Adsense Earnings Errors

I thought I was going to receive payment this month. Adsense support says:

Since last payment drop-down incorrect

Details: Publishers who have switched to local currency reports and who have gone through the balance transfer process will notice that the 'Since last payment' dropdown on the Reports Overview page is displaying incorrect amounts. The earnings amounts displayed will not include the amount of the balance transfer. However, this is only a display issue, and hasn't affected publisher earnings or payments. Once a publisher has been sent their first payment after going through the balance transfer process, the 'Since last payment' dropdown will display the correct amount.
Workaround: To view your unpaid earnings since your last payment, add the balance at the end of last month (found on your Payment History page) to your earnings from the current month. You can calculate your earnings from the current month by running a 'this month' report in the 'Advanced Reports' section of your account.

For instance, to calculate your unpaid balance as of July 20, you'd add the 'Balance at end of June' amount listed on your Payment History page to your July earnings accrued between July 1 and July 20. In this example, the 'Balance at end of June' amount would represent the total unpaid earnings in your account up to June 30th, but wouldn't include your July earnings since the month had not yet ended.

Details: Some accounts may see an inaccurate balance when viewing the 3-month view on the Payments page. This can happen for a number of different reasons, which vary from account to account.
Workaround: Select the "All Time" view and you will see your correct balance.

Internet Explorer 9 Blank Pages Fix

Internet Explorer 9 is Microsoft's comeback on the browser wars. They might just be on the right track with this one.

I just tried IE9, but I was getting blank pages, just like this:


IE9 is in beta, so quirks like this are expected. To fix this problem, disable hardware rendering:
1. Click on Tools, select Internet Options
2. Go to the Advanced tab, and tick Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering


Note: IE9's core feature is hardware rendering, so using IE9 without it is useless. Better wait for the next version for better hardware compatibility.

Note 2: I'm using a SIS672 integrated graphics from SIS.

Note 3: This may prevent some programs (like Adobe installers) from working. These programs use the rendering engine of IE, but forces Hardware Rendering. To fix this, you'll have to downgrade to IE8.

Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management created by Francesco Cirillo (full 44-page paper here). Here is the Pomodoro Technique in its simplified form:

1. Use a timer. A physical timer such as a kitchen timer would be better.
2. Set it to 25 minutes.
3. Do nothing but work during this time. Avoid distractions as far as possible.
4. When the timer rings, set it to 5.
5. This is your break.
6. Do the 25-5 cycle 4 times.
7. Every after 4 cycles, take a 15-30 minute break.

Note that you have to follow this strictly (except for 7). Don't extend your 25 minutes or your 5 minutes, this will destroy your tempo.

The Pomodoro Technique is too simple that even I'm willing to try it (I'm a really bad procrastinator). According the Internets, it seems really effective. Try it! It might be effective. More info about the Pomodor Technique here.
