Kenji

It may sound like a Fort Minor song, that's because it is a Fort Minor song :) . It's a song that I discovered just this day while I was looking for reviews of Minutes To Midnight. I found one that says Hands Held High is a sequel of Kenji. I decided to check it out.

After downloading (forgive me, please?) and listening to it, I was taken back to the 1940's during the Pearl Harbor bombing, the bombing of the two japanese cities and how a japanese family in the U.S.A. went through it.

It's mostly about how Kenji's (which is how Mike Shinoda calls his grandfather in this song) family was taken captive by the US goverment to prevent espionage. Their happy lives were now limited to two bags and a crowded camp.

When the war ended after the bombing of Nagazaki and Hiroshima, they were set free. They hoped for a new beginning, but with the memory of the war still fresh in people's minds, many were not happy with their return. Their house has been broken into and vandalised.

Here's how Mike Shinoda himself puts it:

"I'm half Japanese, and the song 'Kenji' is based on my family's story during WWII in an internment camp. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government began a period of racial profiling. They put all the Japanese-Americans (and some other Asian-Americans) in secluded camps for the duration of the war. My dad was three years old, and had twelve brothers and sisters. My oldest aunt was in her twenties, and had four kids. Her youngest was born in Camp. Her husband died in Camp. They stayed there for the duration of the war, captive. Optimizing keywords in a specific region

This is a response to a post named "Aftermath of Optimizing Keywords in Specific Regions" by a master SEO'er and a fellow pinoy blogger, Jehzeel. He said that it is better to optimize in specific regions rather that internationally. It works indeed.

You could also try optimizing on a much more specific region. Like your province, or even your city. There was a rumor that spread through text here in Cavite about a syndicate named "InterOrgans" that kidnaps children and takes their internal organs. Good thing it was just a rumor.

I posted about it on my blog, Cavite InterOrgans gang: kidnapping kids for their internal organs. After optimizing, I'm first at all datacenters for the word "InterOrgans". I'm also at SERP's for other keywords like "cavite kidnapping", "cavite kidnapping internal organs", even "batang kinukuha". It increased my traffic from 50 per day to 200 per day (according to Google Analytics.)

Cavite: Kidnapped, Found, Internal Organs Missing

UPDATE: It seems like the kidnappers have a name: "interorgans".

UPDATE: We called ABS-CBN, here's what they said:
"It's not true, no police report, no bodies, no internal organs, no nothing."

Last night, I received a text message:

"pipol out there, lam niu na puh b ung news bout sa mga batang nwwla? ung hinahablot tpos kinukuha yung internal organs pra ibenta?"

Chain letters, I told myself.

But it wasn't a chain letter. Kidnapping were being reported all over the south. They were found, but the internal organs were missing. It was also rumored that the kidnappers were using a car with the plate number VMM 507.

There are many similar cases, like in Batangas, where the child was found without internal organs, but with PhP30,000 stuffed in his mouth.

This rumor is already widespread in Cavite. I hear it everywhere in places like gas stations, barbers, schools and sari-sari stores. So far, none of them were reported on TV news.

A rumor? or a made-up story to get the children to go home early? whatever it is, this is pretty horrific news, I hope the police will do something about it.
